Community leaders support Ken Fellman
Contributed by: Ken Fellman on 10/27/2007

I am proud to have earned the support of many of Arvada's community leaders. This letter was recently sent to a number of Arvada residents, and addresses my commitment to parks, recreation and youth issues. Please remember to return your mail ballots by November 6th, and if you'd like more information about the campaign, please go to www.kenfellman.com. Thank you!

Dear Arvada Voter,

When we first elected Ken Fellman to City Council, the City had not built a new athletic field in about 11 years. Since then, Ken has worked hard to help Arvada expand its parks, open spaces and recreational facilities. Chief beneficiaries have been our children. Ken has tirelessly pursued the acquisition and development of many community assets, including:

*Pioneer Park baseball/softball fields

*Long Lake Ranch regional park - baseball, soccer fields for youth sports and the high school football and soccer stadiums

*Majestic View Park and Nature Center

*Bird's Nest Disc Golf Park

*New baseball fields at Lutz Sports Complex

Ken has applied his collaborative skills to the improvement of the City's working relationship with North Jeffco, and he has avidly supported the following projects:

*West Arvada Dog Park

*Pearce, Leyden and Pattridge Open Space (home of the Arvada Modelers Airpark)

*Schaaf Open Space between the Farmer's Highline and Croke Canals

*Completion of Ralston Creek Trail throughout the City

*Moving the Van Bibber Trail under Ward Road for safe passage

*Preservation of the O'Kane and Moore Brothers Farms and Churches Ranch for the benefit of future generations

Ken has demonstrated his commitment through years of volunteerism - coaching YMCA Basketball, North Jefferson Junior Baseball, Arvada Girls Softball, and Arvada Soccer. He has served as a board member on the North Jeffco Foundation. He regularly participates in programs in Arvada's schools and, together with City Council, publicly recognizes the accomplishments of the youth in our community. In this election we have a choice. Let's move forward with a leader dedicated to ensuring that Arvada is the best possible place for our children. Please join us in voting to re-elect Mayor Ken Fellman.
