Hudak raises close to $24,000 for campaign in 2007
Contributed by: Michele Patterson on 1/14/2008

Momentum for Evie Hudak's campaign for State Senate District 19 continued to grow in thefourth quarter of 2007, as the total amount raised by the campaign reached over $23,700 by the end of December.

The strong showing of support in the last few months of the year was particularly impressive, with people turning out for various campaign events in December, despite the snow and cold. "People are excited about Evie's candidacy," said Julia Hicks, her campaign manager. "It was obvious on that Saturday in December when people showed up to see her, knowing that afterwards they would be scraping snow off their windshields and driving home on snow-packed roads."

"Everywhere I go," said Hudak, "people have heard that I am running for the State Senate and come up to me saying how thrilled they are about it."

Hudak has been endorsed by the incumbent, Senator Sue Windels, who is term-limited at the end of this year, as well as numerous other current and former officeholders, including Congressman Ed Perlmutter, President Pro-Tem of the State Senate Abel Tapia, House Majority Leader Alice Madden, and former Governor Romer. Her endorsements also include the Colorado Health Care Association and a number of labor unions.
