No Democratic primary in Senate District 19 race
Contributed by: Michele Patterson on 1/23/2008

Evie Hudak will be going into the caucuses unopposed for the Democratic nomination for State Senate District 19. She announced that she received a call from John Giardino in early January, saying that he was dropping out of the race. "I wish John well in whatever his future endeavors are," said Hudak. "I'm sure we'll continue to see his advocacy on important issues like funding for school capital construction."

This development bodes well for the Hudak campaign, adding to the great momentum her run for election has, with over 300 donors, numerous high-profile endorsers, and nearly $25,000 raised so far. Recently, Hudak received the endorsements of State Treasurer Cary Kennedy and Congressman Mark Udall.

"I'm thrilled that the Democrats can be unified behind one person for Senate District 19," said Senator Sue Windels, the incumbent who is term-limited at the end of this year and a strong supporter of Hudak.
