Former Massachusetts Gov.
Mitt Romney beat out Sen.
John McCain, and
Barack Obama and
Hillary Clinton are still very close.
Arvada is looking for a change and the voters at Parr Elementary came ready to do battle to support their respected candidates.
Parr Elementary held the caucus on Super Tuesday and the city of Arvada is looking for a change. Both sides were full. The Democrats were held in the lunchroom and the Republicans had the gym. Both locations were wall to wall with interested voters.
It was not like a caucus a few years back when only a handful would attend. This place had all ages and in speaking with the voters, it seemed all were aware of big issues, changes that they wanted too see and the promises that each politician made.
Some of the big topics were: health care, Iraq war, taxes and even ways to help benefit seniors with numerous issues. And the changes for the seniors were not made from or by the seniors but by the young adults who participated. They wanted to find ways too better care for seniors with less costs.
Did it help that Barack Obama made an appearance in Colorado and that Hillary sent her husband and daughter to campaign for her? Only time will tell. But it was exciting too see the knowledge in the rooms and the thoughts shared by many.
It is time for a change and yes the voters in Arvada are ready to support changes, and are far better informed than in year's pasts.
