Calling all cowboys! Little buckaroo Raymond Péna is now a 16 year old bronco bustin’ spirit watching over this annual event, where families participate in his dream of a camp for children living with HIV/AIDS. Returning for its 11th year, 22 AIDS families from Colorado stampede to St. Malo Conference Center nestled at the foothills of Mt. Meeker for the annual Camp Ray-Ray. Families will horse ride, hike, fish, participate in unique family crafts, and benefit from healing workshops. As is tradition, they will have time to bask in the natural beauty of the mountains, enjoy Labor Day Weekend, and gain support from each other.
Angels Unaware, an Arvada non-profit organization providing services for children and their families living with HIV/AIDS, will host its annual Camp Ray-Ray which is free for the participating families. Angels Unaware and Camp Ray-Ray are run 100% by the service of 55 volunteers. Local supporters of Camp Ray-Ray Roundup include American Family Insurance, Spirit of Christ Outreach Ministries, Aspen Mortuaries, and Arvada Kiwanis.
