Pet and Kid Parade Returns to Olde Town Arvada

After a three year hiatus, the pet and kid parade will returneto Olde Town on June 9th. The Gold Strike Festival has resurrected it and the parade will help open the festival. Entrants are encourage to dress their pets and kids in "Old Western Get Up." Registration begins at 9:30 am in the Olde Town Square, parade starts at 10:00 am. The parade will proceed from the Square, through Olde Town, ending at the Main Stage on Grandview. At 11:00 am MC and organizer Charley Ault will announce the winners.

Other Gold Strike Festival events include the following:

· Artisans in Olde Town Square along with local musicians
· Re-enactors camped in McIlvoy Park: Buffalo Soldiers and Mountain Men
· Kid's Corner: magicians, face painters, clowns, inflatable rides, mini train
· Library: story hours all day
· Motorcycle run through the foothills
· Texas Hold 'Em Tournament at Breadwinners
· Classic Car Show in St Anne's Parking Lot
· Colorado Crush Cheerleaders
· Pancake breakfast at the Elks
· Ice Cream Social
· Bungee Jumping
· Food, beer, wine and soft drinks
· Over 60 various quality vendors
· Demonstrations and sidewalk sales
· Main Stage to feature Tempa and the Tantrums, John Adams, Otones, Keith Wren, Jeffco Brass Band, Pat Travis Kicked to the Curb, TC & the Domestic Engineers and Drienka.
