Breathtaking Arvada morning
Contributed by: Rob Delisa on 11/14/2006

This incredible, fiery sky intercepted my attention on the somber Monday-morning, eastbound drive into work. This picture was taken with an HP, 8MP digital camera near 86th Avenue and Independence Street on Nov. 13 at 6:32 a.m., using a flash and no digital enhancements. This photo is exactly how it looked if you were fortunate enough to be there to see it at precisely the right time.

I've found that it is always a good idea to have a camera in the car with you. The second thing I have learned is to never be in too much of a hurry to stop and take a photograph -- even if it means being a few minutes late to your job. Some things can wait, but not a sunrise like this. This is one of the sky's rare instances of artistic brilliance. Life is too short -- and so is nature's magic.
