Santa Isn't the Only One Who Needs a Suit This Holiday Season!
DRESS FOR SUCCESS DENVER announces its "Suits of the Holiday Season" Drive.
The season of giving is drawing closer. As the time of giving approaches, Dress for Success, in Denver, asks that you add them to your Holiday Gift List. According to DFS Denver Director, Kathy Bacon, "The biggest challenge we face is suiting for plus size women." Those sizes range from 16-26.
How do you gift wrap self-confidence? Janice Harris was looking for a suit for a job interview. She stood, self-conscious and overwhelmed, in front of the racks of clothes at Dress for Success Denver. Unfortunately there was nothing in her size.
In the coming months, Dress for Success Denver will assist approximately 100 low income women a month with interview suits. Some months they will suit up to 120 clients. These figures add up to 1200+ women per year. Of these 940 women that we transition into the workplace, 70% wear plus sizes. We receive very few plus size suit donations.
In the development stages of Dress for Success, it was quickly apparent that obtaining plus size women's suits was a problem. As a nationwide non-profit organization, contracts with clothing manufacturers such as Simon & Simon, in San Francisco, and Focus 2000, in New York, were established at a very low cost. The $75 suit purchase program enables Dress for Success Denver to place suit orders on a monthly basis when inventory runs low.
How can you help Dress for Success Denver add more plus size suits to their inventory? Donate $75 to their "Suits of the Holiday Season" Drive. This Program helps wardrobe plus size women. But more importantly your donation helps women on the road to self-sufficiency. Your donation goes a long way to building self-esteem and self-confidence. Who among us cannot relate to the saying, "When you look great, you feel great."
