Passion and baseball
Contributed by: Annie Faath on 9/7/2007

''Any time you have an opportunity to make a difference in this world and you don't, then you are wasting your time on Earth." -Roberto Clemente.

As one of the many heroes we study in my 5th grade classroom, Roberto Clemente has become a personal hero of mine. Combining two of the most wonderful things in the world, strong character and a love for the best sport of all time; baseball, Clemente embraced life with passion and generosity.

As teachers, we mix passion and generosity daily in our teaching, cheering, motivating, listening and encouraging of our students! Giving of our time and hearts, spending all of ourselves on the wonderful little people who will be the future, it is only fitting that a group of teachers would attend a fabulous baseball game in honor of our wonderful hero, in the best stadium in the world, Coors Field.
I remember my first baseball game ever attended was in the first season of the Rockies' history. The smells of barbecued hot dogs and an announcer pumping up the crowd filled Mile High. That day sparked my interest in baseball and professional sports. Now, sitting in the Rockies Suite, relaxing, catching up and cheering for our own marvelous team, would be just what we need to re-energize and enjoy ourselves!

To score a suite at Coors field would be like scoring an A+ on the best project ever assigned! It would be an honor and privilege to accept such a wonderful gift!
