How much do I love the Rockies? Well I grew up in a small Wyoming town and I recall all the movies I grew up with that Involved baseball as the great American pastime. A time for grandfathers, fathers, and sons. Growing up near Yellowstone my family hunted, fished, camped and things of that sort. I would never change those moments for anything and as a father I too love sharing those moment with my own children.
About 3 years ago I moved to the Denver area where my children attend Adams county schools. One day the kids brought home a form for discounted Rockies tickets and thus began our families love for the hometeam! Since then I have had the opportunity to bring my 5 sons and many of their friends (sometimes up to 12) to many Rockies games. My 5th grader recently was a part of the group of kids from Berkley Gardens Elementary that were in the opening ceremonies and sang during 7th inning stretch.
So I guess when you ask how much I love the Rockies you can only understand when as a parent I tell you about the smiles on my sons faces that have not stopped bringing tears to my eyes at every game I am fortunate enough to bring my boys too. Not to mention the chance to be a part of one of the most iconic American traditions played out over and over from Norman Rockwell paintings to the big screen. Bottomline pennant or not we are Rockies fans because game night IS family night. Although its my turn to be dad I appreciate my dad as well and can only hope to take him to a game as well. This is why I feel we deserve to win these tickets.
