Why I love the Rockies by Riley age 9
Contributed by: D Knipp on 5/28/2008

It all starts with the butterflies in my 9 year old stomach as I see if the Rockies win! My dad and I are going to the Rockies game to spend some father daughter time and Coors Field is the place to do that. Now, we're riding in our car while my butterflies keep getting larger and larger. We turn the corner and there is the purple and black stadium just waiting for fans to crowd in it. First, we find a parking spot, get checked in and then the most exiting part comes.
Right when I walk in the stadium I could smell the hot dogs cooking on the barbecue and the popcorn popping. We take our seats on the third base side.I noticed the designs on the outfield grass that I always see when I come to a game. The game began! Next, I saw all the figures in purple chanting,"Rockies, Rockies, Rockies" as the stadium echoed. I could hear the Announcer saying,"Toddddddd Heltonnnnnnn" as he batted third. bammmm! He hit a home run! I couldand hear the fans in purple screaming and yelling! The waterfall bursts with white water. All of a sudden, I thought to myself that Idid not need the butterflies, because I knew the Rockieswould win. I knew they would win because of the spirit in their hearts and the confidence in their head. Winning is exactly what they did. As I was gathering my jacket and started walking out of the stadium, I looked back at the field I realized how lucky I am to live in Colorado with a team as spectacular as theColorado Rockies...and that is why I love the Rockies!!!!!!!!
