Pomona Panthers we're all for you. This line from Pomona High School's fight song could have several different meanings.I choose to think of it as the fact that when the Panthers are given a challenge to help out their community they take the challenge gladly because they are
"all for you."During the second week of September Pomona held an undergarment drive in conjunction with Jefferson County Education Association, Jefferson County Public Schools and the Serving Kids charity. Each advisory class was asked to bring in donations of new socks for the children of Jeffco. The staff was also charged with bringing in donations of socks along with; undershirts, bras and underwear. The Pomona Panthers really rose to the challenge and brought in more than 650 new items. One advisory class brought in 211 pairs of socks all on their own. When asked why this clothing drive was so important senior Kelsey Burns said, "In the past we have done food drives and those are important, but this drive really made us think that there are kids that don't have new clothes or even socks. It made us think."
I hope that this article made you think and if you would like to help out you can make mail a donation to The Jefferson Foundation in the form of a check with "Serving Kids" in the memo field or you can also drop of new clothes to the Foundation Monday through Friday, 9am-4pm. Please consider making a difference in a child's life.
