Do you live on a street in Arvada that the city continuously ignores? When it comes to repairs, are you feeling left out? Well I am!
We live on Quay Street between 76th Avenue and Pierce Street. Let me begin a year ago in 2006. The City came along to replace broken and bad sidewalks. I got excited because we need a couple replaced ... nope, didn't happen. They replaced the walks from 76th Avenue to 76th Place and then went on to do rest of the neighborhood. They replaced all of the water lines last summer as well. Forgot Quay and 76th Place completely.
Now it is winter ... if you remember my story about the snow removal not being done. Well, the day after my letter was printed in the paper, they had front-end movers out to help us out. It was so deep and packed down that there was no way a plow would help at all. But thanks for the clean-up. And a BIG thanks to

Now it is 2007. The City is repaving the streets in my neighborhood. And yes, once again we are forgotten. They are repaving Quay from 76th Avenue to 76th Place. They are only using my home to park the big trucks in front of. So all I get is the noise, the dirt and the smell. Lucky me. The hole in the street where the trash truck was stuck last winter is still there. By this coming winter, we will probably be the proud owners of our very own pothole.
To be fair to my fellow neighbors, I must also state that there is never anything done on 76th Place, either. Are we no longer a part of Arvada? I do still pay my taxes here. I do almost all of my shopping in Arvada. We go out to eat in Arvada. So why are we forgotten?
Thanks for letting me get this off of my chest. Maybe some year they will come and work on Quay Street and forget about rest of them. Yah right, when pigs fly.
Thanks,
Pati Jacobsen

I live on a dirt road the county won't plow or pave, so I guess I'm out of my element here.......

I think the city of Arvada has forgotten my whole neighborhood. Lamar south from 72nd is awful as are the side streets.
