My name: John Malito

My age: 53

My family: Cindee (my lovely wife of 23 years), and our beautiful children Zach, age 21, Sarah, age 18, along with Jack (our dog)

Education: BA Journalism/Mass Communications, some advanced Bible, English, and computer science courses

What I do: Pastor and director of seniors ministry at Faith Bible Chapel, Arvada. Member of the Arvada City Council, representing District 4 (West Arvada).

My favorite place in town to hang out: Home, Church, City Hall

What I like most about living here: Arvada has the look and feel of a small, hometown within the strength of a large, growing community.

My interests and hobbies: Reading, golf, tennis, fishing

My favorite thing to cook: Anything on the barbeque (hot dogs, hamburger, sausage, fish, steak, etc.)

People who inspire me (and how): People who aspire to the notion that while it's nice to be important, it's more important just to be nice

How I have contributed to the community: Seven years of active service to my community, including four years as the District 4 councilmember and three years as a member of the Arvada Gold Line Advisory Board. I have also been a member of various Arvada non-profit boards of directors.

The biggest issues facing Arvada now: (1) Transportation in the form of ensuring the beltway and the Gold Line are completed on time, within budget and with quality. (2) Economic growth through increased retail, commercial, and industrial developments. (3) Continuing to maintain a high standard of safety, water quality, and other city services.

Why I am running: First, I have a passion for Arvada and I am extremely proud of my home town. Secondly, there are a number of projects and programs I "support, defend, and lead" that I wish to see come to fruition. And finally, I am committed to lead and help make the decisions that will foster the economic and pragmatic health, vitality and strength of the Arvada community as it continues to build and grow.

I like nice people too. Tell me, are you willing to answer my question on the United States Constituion? No one else will touch it. If you want to seriously impress your constituency, email me and I will email you back with the question

I have found Mr. Malito to be very approachable and friendly. He understands the needs of our district and represents our interests on council consistently. I am proud to be represented by John Malito and encourage all of you in district 4 to re-elect him for a second term.
