Kendo photos from Susan M. Duncan Family YMCA
Contributed by: Seth Davis/YourHub.com on 7/2/2007

I stumbled across a kendo practice at Susan M. Duncan Family YMCA in Arvada on July 1 and had to take some photos because it's the first time I have witnessed something like that in person.

The participants, from Ito Dojo, donned Star Wars-like uniforms that included helmets, chest protectors and black robes. After a brief stretching session, they began attacking each other with bamboo swords called shinai. I must admit that I felt the temptation to pick up a shinai and join in the practice.

Anyway, here are a few photos I took during the practice. Thanks to everyone from Ito Dojo for allowing me to sit in.
