Colt will run for Western State

Colt Barton, 2007 graduate from A-West High School, will be attending Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison, and has been accepted into the track and cross country programs.

Western State Mountaineers' list of accolades for men and women track and cross country combined includes winning 12 National Championships; 10 competing in the NCAA Division II, producing 51 individual national champions and more than 300 All Americans and 3 individuals went on to compete in the Olympics. Western State was recently recognized as the 2007 USTFCCCA Division II Men's indoor and outdoor All-Academic Team of the Year.

Colt's track and cross country accomplishments in high school were impressive and prompted Western State to select him for the trackand cross country programs.

Colts accomplishments at A-West are as follows:

Track - Varsity Letter / 2005, 2006, 2007.
Cross Country - Varsity Letter / 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006.
Cross Country Captain / 2005, 2006.
Cross Country Most Valuable Runner / 2005, 2006.
Cross Country Most Valuable Player / 2005, 2006.
