The Annual Statewide Track and Cross-Country Reunion is set for Sunday, September 9 at the DDRC Harvest Festival Run at the Garrison Sports Complex, 58 th and Ralston Road in Arvada.
If you ever competed at any level in any division in any year, you are invited to join your peers in a five-mile run to celebrate the spirit of competition. It doesn't matter if you are in prime condition, or if you've slowed down a bit, the event is open to people of all levels of conditioning. It's even OK if you want to walk.
Find those old jerseys, or find new ones, but plan on coming out. Competitors who sign up either individually or as a team pay only $15 each when signing up by July 15. The fee helps cover the cost of putting on the event, pay for awards, ($400 in cash prizes), and a donation to the DDRC for sponsoring the event. Registration will continue through the day of the event, but the entry fee jumps to $20 after July 15. If you have a family of runners, the whole family can enter for a flat fee of $40. After July 15, the family fee is $50.
The event begins promptly at 8:00 a.m., Sunday, September 9 with the five-mile run. A three-mile walk/run follows at 9:00 a.m. Packet pick-up and late registration begins at 6:30 a.m. the same morning. To register on-line, follow this link: http://www.active.com/event_detail.cfm?event_id=1459981 You may also visit www.active.com and search "Harvest Festival Run", the zip is "80002". For more information, email Rick or Ron at harvestrun@ddrcco.com Registration forms are also available at the DDRC offices at 11177 W 8 th Avenue in Lakewood. The phone number is 303-233-3363. Ample free parking is available the day of the race at the race location.
