Phil Heath shows Denver just how far and fast he's risen in the competitive world of bodybuilding. From a DU Pioneer basketball guard in 1998 to 2002, to 2nd at the Arnold Classic this year, Heath's natural talent has propelled him to a career in an unusual industry - bodybuilding.
After graduating from DU, Heath began training with friends who competed in bodybuilding. He decided to try eating 6 times a day instead of 3. He changed his lifting like a bodybuilder and entered his first NPC amateur show in 2003 here in Colorado. In 2004, Heath won the NPC Colorado State title and later that year, he won NPC Junior Nationals, becoming an IFBB Professional bodybuilder. That same year, he signed with Weider and was on his way to earning money for his amazing muscular physique.
July is a big month for Heath. He's on July's FLEX magazine cover and he will be returning to the amateur contest he won in 2003, the NPC Cyto Charge Colorado State Bodybuilding & Figure Championships, July 12 at Teikyo Loretto Heights. Heath will perform, sign autographs, and talk with fans all evening.
Don't miss seeing him perform, he's unbelievable!
