Tom Baker has taken the helm for the boys' basketball program at Arvada High School. Baker comes to the Arvada program with many years of experience coaching basketball, football and track.
For the past eight years, Baker has been the Head Coach for the girls' basketball program at D'Evelyn High School. He has also been an Assistant Coach for the past 14 years in the D'Evelyn football program.
Baker has also coached at Arvada West High, Green Mountain High, Northglenn High and Metro State. He has coached players from 3rd grade to the collegiate level.
Baker is excited about the basketball program at Arvada. "I need to teach them how to win the big games and how to get to the playoffs", said Baker. The last time Arvada won a league championship was 1991 and Baker feels that the team has the talent to get back to that level of play.
Baker's day job for the last 15 years has been with the Jefferson County Courts in the Community Service Office.
