Pomona High School kicked off their sporting year with the 5k Run/Walk Panther Prowl on Saturday, August 29 th. All of Pomona's athletic teams coordinate the event and use it as a major fund raiser. The event has a dual purpose for the cross country as they use it to decide who will run varsity for their first two meets.
Showing the specialty of distance running, the cross country team took 15 of the top 20 spots. Adam Sinda set a new record for the Prowl with a time of 15 minutes and 25 seconds. Principal Dan Cohan laced up his shoes and showed the kids that he was more than just the Colorado Principal of the Year.
We would like to thank all the volunteers who made the event possible, our neighbors who allowed us on their streets, our supporters, and our sponsors.
