Running the "Bell"
Contributed by: larry harkreader on 9/18/2008

Heritage High School hosted its Liberty Bell Cross Country meet on Sept. 12 th. The meet is known for being fast and attracting a deep pool of talent. Eighty-four teams from five states competed at the meet. The weather was cool, the skies cloudy, and the times were low.

Pomona's cross country has enjoyed the "Bell" for the last four years and agree that it is one of the fastest, deepest fields. All seven of the varsity boy runners turned in personal records (PR). Adam Sinda led the team with a sixth place finish. Ian Harkreader managed a top 20. Together, the team placed 7 th out of 20 teams in the 2 nd Division.

The Lady Panthers recorded five times under 22 minutes. The girls are led by Hannah Kenyon, the only senior on the team. With such a young team who enjoy competing against each other, the future looks promising.

The Panthers travel to Broomfield on Friday, Sept. 19 th to compete in the Broomfield CC Invitational.
