But now it's called the Garden Harvest Fair

After a four year hiatus the Garden Harvest Fair (a.k.a. vegetable contest) has returned to the Harvest Festival.  Young’s Market and Garden Center on 44^th just west of Garrison will be this year’s sponsor.  With assistance from the Arvada Gardeners they have come up with a great competition in their first year.
Entries will be accepted from noon until 2:00 pm at the booth inside St Anne’s School Cafeteria, judging will begin at 2:00 pm and prizes will be awarded at approximately 2:30 pm. Please have only one entry per category, but a family can enter as many categories as they like. NO entry fees are required.  There will be ribbons for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place, gifts for all participants and great prizes for all the 1^st place winners.

The categories will include:
·                 Largest Ripe Tomato
·                 Longest Green Onion
·                 Heaviest Cabbage
·                 Largest Bell Pepper
·                 Longest Green Bean
·                 Longest Carrot with top
·                 Heaviest Beet
·                 Largest Zucchini/Summer Squash
·                 Heaviest Potato
·                 Longest Chili Pepper
·                 Most Interesting Shape According to Kyle
·                 Ugliest Garden Shoes

Start fertilizing your vegetables and don’t throw out those old garden shoes just yet!
