The Arvada Gardeners will be having a Giant Pumpkin Contest in conjunction with the Festival of the Scarecrows on Saturday October 8th on the McIlvoy House grounds in Historic Olde Town Arvada.

Entries will be accepted from 10am until 1pm, judging begins at 1pm.  Cash prizes of $50, $30 and $20 will be given to the three largest pumpkins.

The Arvada Gardeners will have free kids activities and will be accepting donations for Cornstalks, Gourds, Mini-Pumpkins and Indian Corn, all grown in their Community Garden.

Also every Saturday morning in October, the Arvada Gardeners will have their U-Pick Pumpkin Patch open at their Community Garden at 57th and Garrison.  All of the above items will be available as well as nice crop of jack-o-lanterns. 

Stop by, grab a wheelbarrow and head down to the pumpkin patch!
