Arvada Gardeners Hold Elections

The Arvada Gardeners held their annual elections on January 9th. The new officers are: Midori Krieger - President, Dawn Buckingham - Vice President, Wally Gallaher - Treasurer and Bill Orchard - Secretary. Outgoing President Elmer Nygaard and Vice President Mike Flett (pictured) were honored for their past two years of service. They were each given Hula Hoes for their many accomplishments. Elmer increased the membership, improved partnerships with other city organizations and gave the club more visibility in the community. Mike succeeded in bringing the community garden back to its pre-drought status and popularity. The club also created its 2006 calendar of events, thetwo most important dates being the community garden registration on April 22 nd and the 11 th Annual Open House on August 12 th.
