Grow your own veggies and flowers in Arvada
Contributed by: Bill Orchard on 4/13/2006

If you're an apartment dweller, don't have the room, want to learn to garden or just enjoy gardening in a community environment, consider spending your summer with the Arvada Gardeners.

Their Community Garden of more than 100 plots is located at West 57th Avenue and Garrison Street in Arvada. For $15 you will receive a 12-foot x 22-foot plot, running water, some plants and seeds, hose and tool usage and plenty of free advice for the season. The garden is open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings and Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings.

Register on April 22 between 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, West 57th Avenue and Field Street (across from the garden). Opening day is April 29. Call Bill Orchard 303-422-9468 or Wally 303-420-5478 for more information.
