HubCap: Neff officially coolest YourHublogger ever

If you post stories, photos, events and blogs to YourHub.com, we guarantee one thing: they will appear on our Web sites, perused by millions or hundreds of people each week. Additionally, your stories, photos, events and blogs could appear in our print sections that go out every Thursday on top of subscriber copies of The Denver Post and the Rocky Mountain News.

We now add this possibilty: You could be interviewed by Neal Conan on NPR's Talk of the Nation.

We were not aware thatit could happen until it happened to Barbara Neff, of Castle Rock, who is now officially the coolest YourHub.com blogger ever after appearing on Talk of the Nation on Thursday.

How did this happen? Barbara wrote a tongue-in-cheek (we think) blog about how she didn't want to participate in any more school fundraisers. She created a form that would allow parents to just write a check to the school instead of buying any more wrapping paper, chocolate bars, etc., and posted it in this blog, " School Fundraiser Beg-Off Form." NPR found it, and asked her to be on the show. Read her account of her interview here.

How did this happen? Well, I'm guessing NPR was doing some research for the school fundraising segment of their show and typed the words "school fundraising" into the Google News search engine. If they did that, Barbara's blog would show up pretty near the top of the list of articles.

I'm not saying starting a YourHub.com blog will automatically land you on the Today Show, but ... well, sitting around not blogging isn't going to do much to get your name out there.

Back me up on this one, Barbara.

Also, we're not worthy.

My fifteen minutes of fame (okay, three) on National Public Radio were made possible entirely by YourHub.com.

How totally cool.
