Blog Entry 4 of 6 The Road Home
The Road Home represents thoughts from my life experience. It will reference my view of past and current culture, including on art, architecture, cultural history and values, and customs, traditions, and memories, to which human nature tends to retreat or cultivates for stability and comfort, in challenging times. It will reference politics and the necessity for personal responsibility and knowledge of and comprehension by voters of legislation, behavior patterns of elected officials and candidates, and why voters must test every candidate and find out if those candidates test themselves and how, and why it is necessary to be willing to serve in public office.

You know me, Al!

To the U.S. Senate, Senator Al Franken:

Dear Al:

From Colorado I have been checking in on your progress for over a year. I am ever so grateful you won your way to the Senate. No need to beat slogans over the head. You represent the hallmark Progressive state of Minnesota. You know that the line in the sand on many issues must be drawn far forward.

No longer ought pure capitlism to be used to define the nature of the U.S. and its people, impossible for this nation historically, a failure and antagonistic to the U.S. Constitution. We beat the Royalist class system again; just don't resurrect its false values under any guise. We are a nation that produces a pool of wealth and if we wish to share it for the common good, and our beloved historical credentials say we do, please defend our desire, let alone our right, to do so.

Thank you for voting for EFCA. My senators are Mark Udall and Michael Bennet, the latter an appointment - not duly elected. They will hedge every bet, though nice folk. Mark is growing but endorses compromise still. You don't have to follow them - Colorado Progressives are with you.

We don't need to continue globally as the kind of "leader" we have acted for 30 years. We can be a nation with a persona for helping the needy, prosper ourselves, and "butt out" of others' affairs most of the time except as a commentator and voter at the U.N. and in humble other ways. Be suspicious of the Globalists and David Rockefeller. We need to clean our world. Clean the air, water, soil, food, cleansing agents and medicines of their challenges to our constitution in every way.

Question the real purpose of the Norwegian Seed Bank. Scrutizine to the enth degree any remarks on climate change because we don't want to waste money where that will not serve. Al Gore is linked to the Goldman crowd on that now...challenge them.

Curtail the Pentagon. Get trillions back from them. Impeach where warranted. Don't jump on minority bandwagons. Encourage the merging of some counties, and down the road, maybe even some states, for efficiency. We may have to change the way we look as to states and counties; so be it. We can change, but not go down. Not one of our states or counties is too big to merge!

Underwrite northwest/southwest/northeast/southeast shuttle/trunk line highways and fast speed trains and Minnesota can take the lead on this. Sen. Harry Reid is a weak man in many respects; Sens. Shumer, Kyl, McCain, Lieberman, Dodd, and Sens. Selby, and some others from the South, are not necessarily the friends of the best interests of America - just flat out don't go along with them. Shumer's friends are not necessarily mine. The Goldman Sacs dome floating above the Capitol dome has to go; we need asserted "fair" policies and practices, rather than unquestioning "free," be it on speech, trade or an economic and living policy. Advocate a living policy for Americans who share ownership of this land and its resources. Check out Appointee to the Supreme Court, Judge Sotomayor's use of language.

Visit Colorado - we will support you financially. Help us pass our Clean Campaigns (public funding of political campaigns) initiative. We will help you. Be professional friends with the great Progressives in the Senate - I guess that is Sens. Feingold, Boxer and Kennedy about now, maybe a couple of others. Don't let Americans be gullible about Royalists; every 20 years they make a run at our U.S. Constitution, alternately externally and internally. Defend!

We know already we need a non-war policy in Afghanistan.

Forget and drop the two-state solution for Israel, as the Palestinian Authority cobbled together by the late Yasser Arafat was a fraud, drawing in only the gullible; too many innocents dead. Let the folk who now call themselves Palestinians figure out with which nation they wish to affiliate if they are no longer sephardic shepherds roaming the Palatine hills, drawn off from many historial nations spread over the region in the past.

The woman who ran GBW's ICE program returning uninvited, illegal entrants who drew down complex jobs and fair salaries developed in the U.S., via comfortable flights back to Latin America, was actually doing an excellent job; hire her back. There was a lot of good in that policy.

Close Guantanamo. Make certain the U.S. is a friend and ally, but not a dominator, of Cuba, and let Fidel see it this year, or at least in our lifetime. The dissidents in Miami have just been carving out their own duchy; break Florida open from its burden of partisanship.

The ship of state has been grounded and was being dismantled. We must sail our own personal waters once again. We can join with the Latin America to celebrate the beauty and value of the nature of the Americas. Make certain it happens from pole to pole. We will help you. Value Walter Mondale; he always tried to help. Truth to tell, he may have been our best Democratic Vice President of the past.

Take the paean to "business" and "small business" raised in every political discussion out of the talk. 20th Century U.S. business may have been more destructive than not for us when unregulated and non-curtailed though the American people went along with it. We can find a business model that suits us better than capitalism; can we talk? Walmart advocates Medicare for all now; that is all you need to know to support the public option - and the public will turn any medical care reform to Single Payer post haste. Just watch us!

We will help you. Al. We will support you. We will remember you. Oh, yes - if you want to be funny, be funny. There are a lot of funny people in the Senate. I feel you want to make us proud and I believe in you, and that you will.

Regards,

Progressive and Defender,
Sharon Pearce
