Former Aurora Councilman Bob LeGare entered the race for Aurora City Council At-Large in January 2009 and began an in depth listening tour in the city. Since January LeGare has attended 112 meetings related to neighborhoods, city budget, policy, governance and state legislation to fully understand the various issues facing citizens and city leaders in Aurora.
LeGare, previously elected At-Large from 1995 through 2003, entered the race to potentially add his experience to the Aurora City Council. "With the senior At-Large council member facing term limits in November, I felt that my past experience would be of value to the city council and the citizens of Aurora" said LeGare. If elected, LeGare would bring nine years of city council experience and could immediately add meaningful input into city policy discussions.
"Although I have stayed actively involved in the Aurora community since leaving the city council, this listening tour has given me a deeper understanding of the serious budget issues facing city leaders" said LeGare. "If the citizens of Aurora place their trust in me once again, I will diligently work with other council members to solve Aurora's long term budget shortfall" added LeGare.
