Blog Entry 15 of 15 YouThinkMyOpinionIsBad...
My blog is about: recent events I witness in my neighborhood (Downtown Aurora), my 11 year struggle with chronic pain (including 7 spinal surgeries and more to come), updates on my hunt for/and disruption of Internet child predators in Colorado, and much more. I have strong opinions on many issues that I feel others may want to hear and debate. I welcome others opinions and am not shy about expressing mine. I am an Aurora native, and still love my Community. My wife and I were both raised and schooled in Downtown Aurora. Let's BLOG!

Are we in a 'state of denial?'
Contributed by: Timothy Miller   on 10/11/2006

Are we in a state of denial? It's seems our Commander in Chief (who I voted for) is. I believe; (in regards to the Iraq war) we are... where we are. Too late to say "oops... never mind". But in regards to "staying the course"... no way, Rumsfeld has to go! The time for an arrogant, self-absorbed, twice-failed leadership is over. Mr. Cheney told you Rumsfeld; "get it right this time", and what do you (readers) think... has he? A resounding answer from all angles of political orientation would be, well... HELL NO! Not even close to right. What we have is a failed plan along with a failed and arrogant defense of that failed plan. No new answers. The common denominator seems to be Rumsfeld's strategy which is sucking wind and has no plans of changing.

Does that make sense? It should? Does it hurt so bad to say you are wrong Mr. Rumsfeld? You arrogant old man! Are you too busy belittling anyone who has constructive criticism about your failed war plan to realize that your plan actually sucks... big time! Admit you are wrong, accept criticism and learn from your mistakes. I do it all of the time. To err is human nature. Or do you ever make mistakes? Considering you are an arrogant, condescending, buffoon that screams at and dehumanizes 4-star generals in front of a crowd... I guess not. Screw respect. That's the Rumsfeld way. His way or the highway. Well, then what to do? Eating your words and admitting you were wrong would be kind of like eating broken glass I would imagine. Mr. Rumsfeld, I think you need to eat that glass (and choke on it), actually I think you need to eat something brown in color and smelly by nature... but let's not go there. From your perspective... thank god for Bush.

Now Bush. As wrong as you may be for not replacing little Rummy, I have to respect you. You do what you say, and you say what you do. You stand behind your man, weather right or wrong, like I would do. But there are consequences. Look at what your tax cuts have done for the economy! That was you initial electoral platform right? Tax reform. What you promised in 5 years has happened in 2 years!!! Amazing! And Mr. Bush, you are out there relishing in your bath of Tax reform glory. I don't blame you. If the John Kerrys of the world had their way we would be paying higher taxes than the French (not to mention we would be sitting down with terrorists discussing what we did to make them so mad, and how WE could change to suit THEIR needs). But Mr. Bush, your support of Rumsfeld is gonna cost you the majority, therefore you can say bye bye to Tax reform; the Demmies love to raise taxes and creating too much gov. They salivate all over themselves with the thought of taxing the American public, especially the rich (themselves excluded of coarse). It's sad to see such a beautiful thing (Bush's Tax reform) wither away due to one man's arrogance (Rummy), and the Bush policy of steadfast support for him.

Don't get me wrong. To cut and run would be political and social suicide. But to cut Rummy and run with someone else would be a step in the right direction. Rummy has to go. Dude (LOL), Rummy, you are a self-absorbed tool... and we don't need you anymore. The American people don't need you anymore. Our soldiers that are risking their lives and dying don't need you anymore. And the war in Iraq definitely doesn't need you anymore. Look at where your policies have us now. Iraq is in a state of daily escalating sectarian violence, and the country has the fundamental characteristics of a all-out TRUE civil war.

The point of this blog is to:

1) Say Rumsfeld... KICK ROCKS, leave, get the hell outta here man. I'm (and I think most of us are) sick of your blind, self-stroking, too many dead American soldiers policies. You want to "stay the coarse"? Put some blood from your inner circle ON THE LINE and let's see what happens. This war should have taken a step back... rethought strategies and implementations quite a few I.E.D.'s and suicide bombers ago if that was the case. Since you can't see the error in your ways and admit that it's time to revamp the current game plan... well, then Don, you gots ta go!!! I'm all for arrogance, belligerence and cockiness when it comes to ones ideas and goals for the future, but when thousands of lives waver upon bad judgment calls and failed strategies... that's a different story.

2) People, read Bob Woodward's latest book; "State of Denial" - Bush At War, Part III. As most of us know; Bob Woodward is the assistant managing editor for the Washington Post (a CONSERVATIVE publication). Taking that into consideration; why would he come out with a Bush Bashing book? Well, it's not a Bush Bashing book. But it does force open the eyelids and expose to the light, the eyes of many hardcore conservatives like my own. Alone in my little pro-conservative world; I stood behind Bush and his policies just as he stands behind Rumsfeld and his arrogant failed policies. Seem familiar? That's okay. You don't have to feel that way forever! That is the beauty of this country, freedom to learn, freedom to teach; FREEDOM. The one thing too many people in too many places are fighting against, and at the same time reluctantly willing to accept. FREEDOM. That beautiful word, philosophy, and ideal that we as Americans are trying to spread. I hope it spreads like a disease, like wildfire, consuming all that stands in its path. God Bless the U.S.A.!!!!!!!!!!! And God Bless the freedoms I am afforded that allow me to freely express my opinion in this blog right now. PEACE!

Read the book. Rumsfeld is a completely arrogant and self-absorbed TOOL!

The book is; Bob Woodward: "State of Denial" BUSH AT WAR, PART III

God bless you all, our troops, and this country. Red, white, and blue baby!

Dear Timothy, I almost stopped reading after "who I voted for," but, being an English teacher, I read it through. Your conclusion gives me hope (along with last November's elections and the possibilities in 2008...) Anyway, I think we used to know each other at Aurora Central (I was Nanci Aldrich then...) If so, I'm delighted to see you're still passionate and "sucking the marrow"... If not, keep writing! In any case, thanks for the read and peace to you, too... Nanci(Lee Higgins Aldrich Paul) ;-)
