Blog Entry 25 of 42 The Front Porch
Community Journalist Karen Ward Gilbert discusses the happenings in and around the YourHub.com community along with other, unrelated stuff.

More new stuff and something disturbing
Contributed by: Karen Ward Gilbert/YourHub.com   on 2/23/2006

Ok. There is more new stuff going on here at YourHub.com.

Today we launched several new Web sites: Montbello and Green Valley Ranch. If you have friends or family in these neighborhoods, please encourage them to log on and post their stories and photos.

And even as we expand locally, I noticed on the main home page today there are YourHub.com's in Texas now -- along with Tennessee, Florida and several other states. I think this "citizen journalism" think is starting to catch on.

Also, we now are posting little photos of ourselves -- or in my case, my cat -- on the homepages today to let you know there is a friendly, human face behind the Web site. (It could get interesting with the photos.)

Speaking of interesting photos, my friend Greta, who lives in New York City, sent me the disturbing photo you see to the right.

I took the picture during an NYC visit in December of 2004 at a nifty little store (of which I've forgotten the name) that had all sorts of beautiful textiles, funky hats -- and this horrific head in a cardboard box.
