Caribbean vacation weight loss - Day 14
2 weeks into getting in shape for my vacation and things aren't going so great. I've lost a few inches but I've only dropped a pound. I've cut out most junk food - but only getting more physically active is going to get me closer to the body I want.
So I'm adding two more things to my plan 1) no less than 30 minutes of exercise every single day and 2) join MakeItMe.net to help my motivation. I write copy for the MakeItMe site, so I'm biased - but it's a cool program.
It's a fitness incentive program where people are rewarded for adding physical activity to their lives. MakeItMe members earn rewards as they accumulate hours in their fitness programs. Members go on-line, enter their exercise time and earn rewards from local merchants: movies, miniature golf, gym memberships, desserts, meals, massages - all sorts of stuff.
Maybe knowing that only 20 more minutes will earn me a pass to Trails Recreation Center will get me off my duff after dinner. I have a $25 certificate to Kohl's (earned thru buying school clothes for the kids) and I refuse to spend it on the size clothes that I'm wearing now. So.... I'm going walking.
