Wow! If you haven't had an opportunity to attend a Toastmasters conference, you need to go to the next one. It will inspire you, energize you and give you vision. That's what happened to me a year ago when I attended the Fall conference in Estes Park, Colorado. I was asked to teach a workshop during the conference. I noticed a lot of accomplished toastmasters that had achieved their advanced communication and leadership awards in a short period of time. During that time, I had been a member for four years and only had my competent communicator award and that was it. I realized that I should've been much further along than I was in that time frame and if I applied myself, I may have been a candidate for Distinguished Toastmaster.
The lesson I learned is that you should continue to achieve your personal best and grow. Otherwise, you'll never know what you'll be able to accomplish or experience the joy of continual accomplishment as a toastmaster. Meeting more accomplished toastmasters is very inspirational especially when you see so many present in one location.
Furthermore, the opportunity to hear the caliber of speakers and knowing you have to the potential to be as polished as they are will motivate you. The conference will also teach you the value of collaboration and teamwork. You will learn so much at these conferences that you'll have the road map you need to take you to the next level of your advancement. Where do we go from here? Anywhere you like! Just get inspired and
never stop growing
