Be American
I've grown up in Aurora and seen the Hispanic community grow at an astonishing rate.

I've grown up in the Aurora neighborhood that I currently live in.
The Hispanic community has grown at a rate that the whites are now the minority. I am Hispanic/German and was raised with a knowledge of both cultures. BUT the thing that my parents always stressed is that we were American.
Why can't the immigrants coming from Mexico follow the same regulations that ALL immigrants have had to follow? Why do they feel that because they share our border they are allowed any different rights?
We need to know who is here to make sure that our country is safe. A terrorist could come through Mexico and NEVER be questioned. There has to be a registration process that ALL immigrants have to follow.
The Mexicans that are coming here are coming for the opportunity to do better, or so they say. That's all fine and dandy, but come here legally, work here legally, and pay taxes here legally.
I don't understand how they can come here and reap all of the benefits that we have woked so hard for and then still wave their flag around.
IF they want to do that, they have to go back and do that in their own country. When in America you have to believe that you are an American!
They come here and get food stamps and get housing and get new cars that those of us who have lived here our entire lives are unable to get. We're unable to get it because our credit stinks, or we make "too much money" for food stamps or housing.
Come here, legally, and then, and only then, should you be allowed to get these benefits. Become an American, but know your culture is still in your heart. Learn our language and stop feeling as though we must change to meet your needs. BE what you came here to be.

What do you think about the march on May 1st? It is not even going to be a fair representation of the actual impact of not having the illegal immigrants because a lot of other legal immigrants and sympathizers are going to participate! What they don't seem to understand is that we don't have a problem with LEGAL immigrants!!!
