Description:
November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month.
Pancreatic Cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States.
This year 42,470 people will be diagnosed and of that number 35,240 will die from it.
Pancreatic Cancer has the highest mortality rate of all the major cancers. 95% of pancreatic cancer patients will die within five years of prognosis- only 5% will survive beyond five years. 76% will die within the first year of diagnosis.
The average life expectance after diagnosis with metastasizeddisease in just three to six months.
November 14th the Denver Affiliate of Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is having a Candlelight vigil to remember loved ones and support survivors of Pancreatic Cancer at 4pm at Clement Park at 7306 West Bowles Ave. Littleton CO 80123
Join us for a sunset memory walk around the park's beautiful lake, and afterwards help us honor all those touched by pancreatic cancer with a candlelight vigil, music and guest speakers.
Registration is $5 per person, which includes a glowstick and warm beverages. For an additional $5 donation, a memorial ribbon is available. Join us as we honor and remember loved ones affected by pancreatic cancer during National Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.
