One would be hard-pressed to think of an attraction that didn't happen last Friday night in the
East End Arts District's Summer Art Walk... They pulled out all the stops so there would be more than something of interest for every one.
Here's a sampling of what all you could have done during this self-guided art walk:
.... jumped into painting veggies with other kids; learned how a pot is thrown; savored a Frida Kahlo margarita; met hybrid animals; watched lovely models strut the red runway wearing fabulous local fashions; seen visual captures of "sound"; witnessed a steamroller printmaking demo; listened to live
...chamber or pop tunes; quaffed wines; played bingo for chance to win cool prizes; watched a live art exhibition; savored specialty coffees; selected that perfect eco-friendly, found-art banner bag; viewed local art from children, college students and adults; discovered what the international Mail Art exhibition is all about,; painted your own special ceramic piece; planned to
...attend a live theater performance; learned all about the fine art of quilting; strolled through a lush community garden; checked out fabulous public art installations; shopped for stunning hand-wrought jewelry and pottery and mingled with a lot of other fun folks.
If it's true that a picture is worth a thousand words, you will find a veritable collection with this story. While not all of the venues were able to be represented here, you should get a great feel for this well-organized and attended art walk in the colorful
East End Arts District.
