MDRF is Filling Backpacks & Needs of Local Kids

The room was filled with the aroma of new pencils and crayons, along with excited and very appreciative kids as the Metro Denver REALTOR Foundation, "MDRF" distributed 100 backpacks to Kindergarten through 12th graders at Warren Village for their Back to School Night. MDRF was very proud of this great kickoff to their new program to help children and their families in the Metro Denver community. In addition, several more backpacks were given to the residents at JC's Journey, Inc., a home for teenage girls in Lakewood, CO. It's great to see this program filling the needs of kids in our community as they start the new school year. Each backpack that is given is filled with all of the supplies a student needs to get them through the school year. "Do you remember how great it was to go to school the first day with a new backpack, supplies and high hopes..."asked Debbie Conner, Backpacks for Kids Committee Chair, "that's our goal, to give these kids that same feeling as others work to help them overcome the obstacles they maybe facing outside of the classroom."

Would you like to help MDRF achieve the goal of giving 2,000 supply filled backpacks to children in need? Fabulous!
