ACC offers casino night to students, community

Arapahoe Community College will transform into a casino for one night only on Nov. 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. to benefit the ACC Student Emergency Fund. The event is sponsored by the Student Affairs Office.

Casino Night will include complimentary hors d'oeuvres, and free child care will be provided for children ages 2 to 12. Buy in will cost $15 for ACC students, faculty and staff and $20 for community members. Prizes will be awarded.

All money generated by Casino Night will be donated to the ACC Student Emergency Fund. This fund helps students who find themselves in the unfortunate position of having to choose between attending classes and working extra hours to help pay off an unexpected financial responsibility. The Student Emergency Fund assists by allocating funds to cover some of these costs in an attempt to keep students in their classes.

In return for an individual's "buy-in" amount, each person will receive $1,000 in play money. Secondary buy-ins are permitted at $20 per person, no matter their affiliation; that second $1,000 comes off the top at the end of the night. Whoever has the most play money at the end of the night will be the first place winner, second most money will win second and third most will win third. One person will win each prize and will have choice between two items.

The first-place prize is a Wii gaming system or $300 to the Denver Ritz-Carlton, second place is a digital camera or $200 to Del Frisco's restaurant and third place is a $100 gas card or $100 to the Spa at Aspen Grove.
