Dance classes available for adults and youth

Get your blood flowing and your body moving to the beat at the City of Aurora's summer dance camps for youth and classes for all ages.

Summer Dance Camps feature a fun week of ballet, jazz, tap, funk, modern, pom and lyrical dance.

Camps for ages 7 to 10 are offered from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 19 to 23 at Expo Recreation Center, 10955 E. Exposition Ave., and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 26 to 30 at Meadowood Recreation Center, 3054 S. Laredo St.

A camp for ages 11 to 14 is available from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 10 to 14 at Meadowood. An additional camp for ages 11 to 14 with two to three years of dance experience is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 17 to 21 at Meadowood. All camps are $90 per week for Aurora residents and $110 for non-residents

Six-week youth classes for ages 7 to 12 in ballet, hip hop, funk, jazz and tap begin in mid-July, and are offered on both evenings and weekends. The cost is $40 for Aurora residents and $52 for non-residents. Call for exact times, dates and locations.

Adult classes for ages 18 and older are as follows:
Ballroom: Jitterbug/Swing, June 23 and 30, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m., Expo Recreation Center, $17 Aurora resident or $22 non-resident (single) or $27 Aurora resident or $35 non-resident (couple)
Ballroom: Cha Cha/Latin, July 7 and 14, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m., Expo Recreation Center, $17 Aurora resident or $22 non-resident (single) or $27 Aurora resident or $35 non-resident (couple)
Ballroom: Waltz, July 21 and 28, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m., Expo Recreation Center, $17 Aurora resident or $22 non-resident (single) or $27 Aurora resident or $35 non-resident (couple)
Belly Dance, July 11 to Aug. 15, Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m. or 8 to 9 p.m., Meadowood Recreation Center, $42 Aurora resident or $55 non-resident
Latin Swing: Lindy, Swing and Jitterbug, June 27 and July 11, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m., Expo Recreation Center, $17 Aurora resident or $22 non-resident (single) or $27 Aurora resident or $35 non-resident (couple)
Latin Swing: Argentine Tango, July 18 and 25, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m., Expo Recreation Center, $17 Aurora resident or $22 non-resident (single) or $27 Aurora resident or $35 non-resident (couple)
Latin Swing: Merengue, Aug. 1 and 8, 7:15 to 9:15 p.m., Expo Recreation Center, $17 Aurora resident or $22 non-resident (single) or $27 Aurora resident or $35 non-resident (couple)
