Life is better in the small village of Konbek in southern Sudan because of Eaglecrest High School. Working in collaboration with a local non-profit called Project Education Sudan, Eaglecrest, lead by AVID students, has raised over $16,000 for its sister school, Ayak Anguei Girls' Primary Boarding School. The school is thriving with 499 girls attending. Some walk from home, and some board at the school, using classrooms as sleeping quarters at night, since there are no dorms. In addition, Project Education Sudan, with the help of EHS fundraising last spring, sent $500 for school supplies.Next up in the building plan - more classrooms, desks, dorms, and akitchen.
Help provide these by participating in the 2nd annual Walk for Sudan - Saturday, October 18th from 1:00 to 3:30p.m. at Cherry Creek State Park, west side.Register or donate by visiting
