Contributed by: Mary Margaret Rangel on 5/17/2007

The Rangeview High School and Aurora Quest Academy Destination ImagiNation teams will compete in the Global Tournament in Tennessee later this month. Teams from all over the world gather to compete in the three-day event.

Destination ImagiNation is one of the world's largest creative, team-based, problem-solving competitions for youth of all ages. Tournament challenges range from theater arts and improvisational acting to architectural design and structural engineering.

The Rangeview team took first place in the state competition to advance to the global tournament. The group performs a creative sketch about battling cancer. This will be the third time the Rangeview team competes at the global competition.

Team members first competed at the Global Tournament while attending Columbia Middle School in 2004. They also competed in the international event in 2006. The team has competed together as a group since first grade.

The Aurora Quest team earned third place in the state tournament. The team built a structure made from playing cards and glue that held 650 pounds. This is the team's first trip to the global competition.
