Celtic singer, hand bells to join symphony concert

Acclaimed Celtic singer Marta Burton and the Rocky Mountain Ringers will join the Aurora Symphony Orchestra for the "4th Annual International Holiday Masterworks: A Celebration from the British Isles" concerts at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 and 4 p.m. Dec. 14 at the Gateway H.S. Center for the Performing Arts, 1300 S. Sable Blvd., in Aurora.

The orchestra's annual world tour of international holiday traditions will capture the yuletide spirit with a union of orchestra, vocals and hand bells performing both original and holiday arrangements.

Denver resident Marta Burton has performed in concert halls and theaters throughout the United States and abroad.

In Denver,Burton both produces and performs in a wide variety of concerts including "A Celtic Midwinter, Southern Journey, Amazing Grace: Songs of Faith and Folk" and "A Celtic Faire," a symphonic pops concert. She will be directing the 2008 Interfaith Music Festival, and leads The Sojourners, an Ensemble of The Spirituals Project, a non-profit dedicated to the preservation and revitalization of the sacred songs called spirituals.

Rocky Mountain Ringers is an auditioned community hand bell ensemble of advanced ringers from the Denver metropolitan area that have been performing since 1996.
