Clayton Thomas Ford, 15, of Aurora, a junior at Humanex Academy, 2700 S. Zuni, Englewood, has been awarded three national academic awards and designated an All-American Scholar At Large by the United States Achievement Academy, headquartered in Lexington, Ky.

Ford, the son of DeWayne and Vicki Ford of Aurora, was named to the Who's Who in Leadership and Service, Who's Who in Physical Education and Who's Who among All-American Scholars for the 2007-08 school year.

His father told YourHub.com, "It feels great to be a parent of this young man," remembering that a teacher spotted his exceptional ability when in second grade, he added up the costs of his textbooks in a bookstore in his head - including tax.

"He's a great kid and a great teenager," the elder Ford added.

Ford will be included in the U.S. Achievement Academy yearbook for his honors, a distinction given to only the top ten percent of students.
