City of Aurora Aquatic Supervisor
Bill Rich recently was elected to serve as a Midwest Region Representative on the board of directors for the National Recreation and Park Association's National Aquatic Branch.
Rich earned his bachelor's degree in parks and recreation in 1974 from the University of Florida with an Aquatics Specialist Certification.
He began his career in recreation in 1975 and worked 24 years for the City of Hialeah, Parks and Recreation before leaving in 1999. During his tenure with the City of Hialeah, he was the Aquatics Supervisor overseeing five swimming pools and one family aquatic center.
In his present position since 1999 with the City of Aurora Library, Recreation and Cultural Services, Rich oversees three indoor pools and seven outdoor swimming pools. He has been an Aquatic Facility Operator Instructor since 1994. He is also a Water Safety Instructor Trainer and Lifeguard Instructor Trainer. He currently sits on the Denver Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross Health and Safety Committee.
Rich is past chair of Colorado Parks and Recreation Aquatics Interest Section and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Colorado Parks and Recreation Association.
