Woman robbed while smoking. An Aurora police officer was sent to an apartment on the 11000 block of East 16th Avenue at 10:13 p.m. Oct. 31. A woman told the officer she was outside her apartment smoking a cigarette when she was approached by two men wearing dirty clothes. One of the men grabbed her purse, which was on her shoulder, causing her to fall to the ground. The men rifled through her purse and left the woman unharmed. The woman reported some money and a money order for her rent were taken from her purse. The woman said she would not be able to identity the suspects if she saw them again. Police had no suspects at the time of the report.


Man arrested for stealing underwear. An Aurora officer was sent to T.J. Maxx, 2320 S. Parker Road, on a report of shoplifting at 1:26 p.m. Oct. 31. The officer spoke to the store's detective who said he saw a man enter the store, take four pairs of boxer shorts off their hangers and stuff them down his pants. The detective stopped the man as he tried to leave the store without paying and called the Aurora police. The boxers are worth $5.99 apiece. The man was arrested and issued a summons.


Girls issued summons for shoplifting. An officer was sent to Target, 14200 E. Ellsworth Ave., at 1:20 p.m. Oct. 31 on a report of shoplifting. The officer spoke to a store employee who said he saw two girls walk into the store with an empty bag and place clothing and CDs in the bag. As the girls tried to leave the store without paying, they were detained by security. The girls parents were called and the girls were released with a summons for theft. The total value of the merchandise in the bag was $485.


Fence knocked down. A woman told an Aurora police officer that someone had knocked down the fence at her home on the 900 block of South Macon Street at 11:54 p.m. Oct. 24. The woman said she left her house at 2:30 p.m. and when she returned the fence was damaged. The woman valued the fence at $400. Officers had no suspects at the time of the report.
