Masonic Lodge honors APS High School students

The Aurora Masonic Lodge #156 and the Denver Masonic Officers Association recently held their annual Aurora High Schools Junior Class Student Dinner and Awards presentation. This program has been held annually for more than 15 years to recognize the accomplishments of students in academics, school activities and service to the community.

The students earning their school's honors for 2008 include:

Aurora Central High School: Ambrosia Lyn Berg Andrew T. Saenz
Gateway High School: Kaylynne Hohulin and Wisdom Amouzou
Hinkley High School: Rebecca Barnstien and Richard Muller
Rangeview High School: Mari Weyman and Hoan Vu Nguyen
William Smith High School: Elizabeth Johnson and Jonathan Nguyen

Also joining the students at the awards ceremony were the Worshipful Master of Aurora Lodge #156, Charles Lewis and Aurora City Councilperson Bob Fitzgerald.

Aurora Public School staff members who attended included Principal Jane Shirley from William Smith High School, Counselor Cynthia Higgins and Kathy Jarvis, College/Career Specialist from Gateway High School.

Jarvis was honored by the Masons last year as the 2007 Educator of the Year for the Aurora Public Schools.
