Fallen soldiers among those honored Nov. 4 at city of Aurora's Veterans Salute

Soldiers who died while serving during six conflicts in recent history were honored Nov. 4 at the city of Aurora's 15th annual Veterans Salute at the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum.

Families representing three fallen Colorado soldiers representing World War II, Vietnam and Operation Enduring Freedom were specifically honored with a plaque from the Colorado Freedom Memorial. General recognition of the fallen from World War I, Korea and the Gulf War also took place.

About 800 veterans and their families, military, community and civic leaders and others paid tribute to the more than 25 million living U.S. veterans and active duty personne--as well as the fallen--at the event, which featured a patriotic program and luncheon.

The 15th annual event is presented and organized by the city of Aurora's Aurora Center for Active Adults and hosted by the Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum, in partnership with Studio 1430 KEZW-AM, Buckley Air Force Base 460th Space Wing, the Colorado Air National Guard 140th Wing, Headquarters Air Reserve Personnel Center, Aerospace Data Facility Colorado and the United States Army Reserve 75th Division. Presenting sponsor is Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital.
