City Council Members Spooked by their Voting Record

Aurora, CO - October 28, 2009

As Aurora citizens prepare for the scary ghosts and goblins of Halloween it is apparent that some Aurora City Council Members are afraid that their voting record will become common knowledge.

An Aurora Sentinel article on October 27 th falsely asserts that the non-partisan, non-profit organization Arapahoe Concern "oppose specific candidates for the upcoming Aurora City Council race."

"The attempt by Council Members Beer and Wallace to claim partisanship and discredit our organization rather than address the fact that they voted to send an initiative to the citizens raising the city's tax revenue on properties by 40% while at the same time increasing the pay of city employees and extending their benefits is indicative of the fact that they do not want the public to know how they voted" said Jude Sandvall, spokesman for Arapahoe Concern.

"I think that most citizens of Aurora would be appalled to know this information and we intend to educate them" Sandvall states. "It just isn't fair to the hardworking citizens of Aurora that while they are tightening their belts in this tough economic climate Council Members Beer and Wallace are advocating to raise their taxes and spend more of their money. I think these votes will come back to haunt them."

Arapahoe Concern is a non-profit organization that strives to inspire an environment of economic vitality by promoting sensible and sustainable public policy. Furthermore, they educate citizens regarding the economic impact of present and future public policy and issues. To learn more visit www.arapahoeconcern.com
