Hi my name is
Mattie Whitten. My life's ambitions is to become a
champion NASCAR driver.
I started racing quarter midgets when I was 11 years old. The
unique part of this story is none of my family or friends have ever
raced or been racing. I played soccer like most girls from 4-11.
Then one day I told my Mom and Dad that I didn't want to play
soccer anymore. My Mom proceeded to put me in every other sport and
somehow we ended up at Centennial Airport in Centennial, CO trying
out a quarter midget race car. After doing a couple of laps people
said I was a natural.
The next thing you know I'm racing quarter midgets and my Mom
and I are driving to places like Ellicot CO, Pueblo CO, Erie CO,
Billings MT, and finishing my Last season with a race in Las Vegas
NV where I qualified 3rd in the A Main.
All of the people that follow and read this will understand how
racing can change your whole outlook on life. For me competitive
racing is an opportunity to learn and experience how to deal with
rapid change, adversity, defeat and success.
My racing experience has helped to develop personal skills
that I will need for the rest of my life. Most important my racing
experience has taught me to appreciate all the supportive people in
my life. For without their unwavering support my ambitions would
never have the chance to become a reality
In recognition of all the support that I have received while
racing competitively for the past 8 years and to those who will
support me in the future, I dedicate this web page.
I have to start with my Mom and Dad,
Wayne &
Kyle Rayburn,
Steve Carpenter, Joe Bellm, Rory Mallo, Joe Starr, Andy
Sbravatti, Steve Saykelly, Allan Duncan, Adam Shrove,
Dave &
Don Worster, Steve and
Andre Wright, and all the people that I have
missed there is a place to say hi on the the Web site... Thank
you!
To all my sponsors that have kept the "Check Her Racing" Team
going; Metro Link Mortgage, Events by Dina, American Humane
Association, Asmus Auto Sales, P-(J) Ranch, YiaYia, Economy Greek
