Flicks on the 'Fax promises good fun
Contributed by: Kevin Villegas/YourHub.com   on 6/13/2007

As summer starts to heat up, there are always things to do outside as a family.

Aurora sponsors lots of these opportunities to get out and enjoy being around other people while taking in a little bit of culture.

The Aurora Credit Union Alliance's Flicks on the 'Fax is one such event that is held in Aurora. Sponsored by the Aurora Credit Union Alliance and the City of Aurora, this series features seven family-friendly films designed to entertain young and old alike.

Marie Addleman, speical events coordinator for the city of Aurora, said that last year, there were about 300 people at each movie.

"It's cool because families bring everybody and kind of stake their claim," Addleman said.

This is the fourth year that the series is being held.

The films, which are shown at Fletcher Plaza, 9898 E. Colfax Ave., start this Saturday, June 16.

In addition to the films being show, there will also be activities for the whole family, along with refreshments that will be sold in the park.

The city wants to remind you to bring your lawn chairs and blankets and also to come early to get the best seats and take advantage of the pre-show festivities.

"The city has made a great investment in the infrastructure around Fletcher Plaza and started doing this to show it off," Addleman said.

The shows will start at sunset and run from 1 ½ to 2 hours long. Dogs and alcohol are not allowed at the site.

For more information, visit the Flicks Web site at auroragov.org/flicks or call 303-326-8FUN.

Here is a listing of the movies that will be shown during the course of the summer:
