With spatula in hand, Laredo Elementary School principal
Quinn O'Keefe
cooked up his special homemade pancakes for fellow staff members. While enjoying O'Keefe's culinary creations, they celebrated their recent success with a data challenge he issued.
O'Keefe challenged staff members in each grade level to showcase their students' reading scores in creative and exciting ways.
"I wanted to highlight our school's improving reading scores, and I thought who could do that better than our very own teachers," said O'Keefe.
Laredo teachers responded with a burst of creativity and fun. They made unique displays and bulletin boards up and down Laredo's hallways that are eye catching and extremely informative.
"We had a blast creating these reading displays," said Laredo teacher
Becky Miller
. "It was a great opportunity for teachers in each grade level to work together on a collaborative project. "
The breakfast did not feature only O'Keefe's award-winning flapjacks. It honored all of the staff members' creative work on the project. The fourth grade teachers won top prize for the best display.
